To access our BARX Africa platform please contact your BARX Africa Sales representative or email BARXafricasales@barclays.com Please ensure your computer meets our system requirements before you begin.

System Requirements

Below are the recommended system requirements. BARX Africa may experience performance issues if these are not met.

  • Microsoft Windows XP or above with the latest service packs and security updates installed
  • Sun Java Runtime Environment version 7.0 update 40
  • 2GB hard disk space available
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 32Mb of video memory
  • Dual core Processor
  • Internet Explorer 6 or later with 128-bit encryption and ActiveX enabled (for BARX Live only)
  • 19 inch Monitor (or larger) with resolution of 1280x1024
  • Internet Connectivity 1Mbps download speed
  • Anonymous and Basic authentication supported (Window Integrated authentication, otherwise known as NTLM, is currently not supported.)
  • Firewall to be configured to allow the files types .jnlp and .jar
  • Firewall to be configured to allow the IP addresses:

New users of BARX should follow the step-by-step instructions below:


Step 1: Download your Barclays digital certificate

Log-in to the secure website using your Barclays username and password (sent via e-mail) and follow the on-screen instructions.

Refer to the troubleshooting guide if you encounter problems during the certificate download process.

 

Step 2: Download BARX

Consult our troubleshooting guide if Java Web Start fails to download BARX Africa.

 

Step 3: Login to BARX

Enter your Barclays username and password at the login screen and click Login.

If you have problems connecting, check your proxy server settings by clicking on the Options tab, and select the Action "Change Internet Settings". You can find more helpful information in our troubleshooting guide.
